What’s the difference between IP CCTV and traditional analogue cameras?
IP cameras transmit digital video over a network, offering significantly higher resolution, remote access, and AI analytics like ANPR and people counting. Analogue systems are limited in resolution and feature set. For any new installation, we exclusively recommend IP.
How long is CCTV footage stored for?
That depends on the storage capacity of the NVR and the number of cameras. We typically configure systems for 30 days of continuous recording as a baseline. Higher-resolution systems or sites with many cameras may need larger storage — we size this correctly from the start.
Do I need planning permission to install CCTV?
In most cases, no — CCTV on private commercial premises doesn’t require planning permission. However, cameras that overlook public highways or neighbouring properties may have restrictions. We ensure all installations comply with ICO guidance on data protection and signage requirements.
Can you take over an existing CCTV system installed by another company?
