Structured IT Infrastructure

Cabinet & Rack
Installations

A well-built rack is the foundation of a maintainable IT room. We supply and fit open-frame racks and enclosed cabinets, install and terminate all cabling, and leave everything labelled, documented, and ready to scale.

What We Install & Build

Complete rack and cabinet build-outs — from empty space to a fully operational, neatly cabled IT infrastructure.

Supply & Fit

We source and supply the right rack or cabinet for your space and equipment density, then handle the full installation — wall-mounted, floor-standing, or open-frame.

Cable Management

Horizontal and vertical cable managers, velcro dressing, and route planning that keeps your rack tidy today and easy to work in years from now.

Patch Panel Installation

Cat6 / Cat6A patch panel installation and termination. Every port tested, labelled both front and rear, and recorded in the site documentation.

Power Distribution

PDU selection and installation, with consideration for redundancy, total load, and future capacity. UPS integration where required.

Equipment Mounting

Rack-mounting of servers, switches, patch panels, UPS units, and other 1U–4U equipment. Cable feeds dressed and secured before any power-on.

Documentation & Labelling

Every port, cable run, and piece of equipment documented with a consistent labelling scheme. You'll always know what's connected to what.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you work with an existing rack rather than replacing it?
Yes. If the rack itself is sound, there’s no reason to replace it. We can re-cable, re-terminate, add patch panels, improve cable management, and document everything to a professional standard. A tidy, well-labelled rack makes every future job faster and cheaper.
How much physical space does a server rack take up?
A standard 19-inch floor-standing rack is typically 600mm wide and 800–1000mm deep. Height varies from 12U (roughly 600mm tall) to 47U (over 2m). We’ll recommend the right size based on current and anticipated future equipment, with space factored in for airflow and cable management.
Do you handle the power distribution and cooling in the rack?
Yes. We specify and install PDUs (Power Distribution Units) appropriate for the load, factor in redundancy where required, and ensure airflow is managed correctly within the cabinet. Poorly managed heat is one of the most common causes of premature hardware failure.
We have a messy comms room — is it worth sorting out?
Almost always yes. An unmanaged comms room makes faults harder to diagnose, changes take longer, and undocumented cabling creates risk. We’ve walked into comms rooms that took days to audit and document — the cost of the tidy-up is usually recovered quickly in reduced engineer time on future jobs.
Do you provide documentation after a rack installation?
Yes — every installation includes a full cable schedule, port labelling, and rack elevation diagram. You’ll know exactly what’s connected where, which makes support, audits, and future changes significantly easier.

Ready to Build a Proper IT Room?

Whether it's a new installation from scratch or a tidy-up of an existing rack, we'll leave it looking — and working — exactly as it should.
