Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) applies to StrataByte Mail, including mailboxes purchased for your own domain. It exists to protect the deliverability and safety of every customer sharing our infrastructure. By using the service you agree to it.

1. No Spam or Unsolicited Mail

You must not send unsolicited bulk email of any kind. All marketing or bulk mail must be sent only to recipients who have given verifiable consent and must include a working unsubscribe mechanism. Purchased, rented, or scraped mailing lists are prohibited.

2. Prohibited Content and Activity

• Phishing, impersonation, or fraudulent messages of any kind
• Malware, ransomware, or links to malicious content
• Content that is illegal under UK law
• Harassment, threats, or abuse directed at any person
• Forged headers, spoofed senders, or attempts to disguise message origin

3. Sending Limits

Mailboxes are subject to fair-use sending limits (currently up to 200 messages per hour and 500 per day per mailbox). These limits protect the shared sending reputation of the platform. If your business has a legitimate need for higher volumes, contact us first.

4. Account Security

You are responsible for keeping mailbox passwords secure. If we detect that a mailbox has been compromised and is being abused, we may suspend it immediately to protect the platform, and we will notify you.

5. Fair Use of Storage and Resources

Storage quotas apply per mailbox as described in your plan. Using mailboxes primarily as file storage, or automated abuse of the service (for example scripted mass account activity), is not permitted.

6. Enforcement

Violations may result in rate limiting, suspension of the affected mailbox or domain, or termination for serious or repeated abuse. Where practical we will warn you first. Suspension for abuse does not entitle you to a refund for the current billing period.
